Agenda Item Title: Approval of HYA Additional Service Request for the Administration Building Redesign for the Bubb Elementary School, Huff Elementary School and Landels Elementary School Phase 2 Modernization Project

Background:
The Bubb, Huff and Landels Phase 2 project includes renovation of the administration buildings at each of the three campuses. During the Division of the State Architect (DSA) submittal process it was discovered that DSA has interpreted the updates to the 2016 California Building Code differently than expected. The original plan would have lead to extensive structural investigations and testing of the existing structures which were both cost and schedule prohibitive. To bring costs and schedule back in line, the administration buildings at all three campuses had to be redesigned in a way that would not require the extensive structural investigation and subsequent testing.
Fiscal Implication:
HYA has presented an additional service fee proposal for the required services in the amount of $17,500. This proposal is within the established project budget for design contingency-Measure G.
Recommended Action:
That the Board of Trustees approve the additional service fee proposal for HYA in the amount of $17,500.
