Agenda Item Title: Resolution No. 1652.6/17, Education Protection Account (EPA) Proposition 30 (5 minutes)

Background: The voters of the State of California approved Proposition 30 on November 6, 2012, which added Article XIII, Section 36 to the California Constitution effective November 7, 2012. Article XIII, Section 36(e) creates an Education Protection Account (EPA) to receive and disburse the revenues derived from the incremental tax increases imposed by Article XIII, Section 36 (f). All funds in the EPA will be continuously appropriated for the support of school districts. The District shall have sole authority in determining how the funds received by the EPA are spent. The Board shall make the spending determinations with respect to funds received from the EPA in an open session of a public meeting of the governing board of the Mountain View Whisman School District.

FY 2016-2017 revenue of $995,856
FY 2017-2018 revenue of $1,013,187
Recommended Action: That the Board of Trustees adopt Resolution No. 1652.6/17, Education Protection Account for the proposed uses of the Education Protection Account Funds as identified on the attached list.
