Background: 

The District was successful in March 2020 through Measure T in obtaining authorization from the District’s voters to issue $259,000,000 of the District’s general obligation bonds (“Measure T”).  The elections were conducted pursuant to Proposition 39.  Pursuant to Section 15278 of the Education Code, the District is now obligated to establish an “independent citizens’ oversight committee” in order to satisfy the accountability requirements of Proposition 39.  District staff has put an ad into school newsletters to look for additional members and to take over for members of the committee that wish to step down now that the majority of Measure G is completed.  This resolution would allow one oversight committee to oversee both Measure G and T and would update the bylaws.
