Agenda Item Title: Board Bylaw No. 9310, Board Policies

Background:
The District is in the process of updating Board policies. Board Bylaw No. 9310 has been update to reflect revisions recommended by the California School Boards Association.
Board Bylaw 9310 provides an overview of how Board Policies are developed and adopted. This policy was amended / adopted December 9, 2010. For the most part, the language in the policy remains the same with the exception of the following items:
- The verbiage at the end of the policy that discusses the suspension of a policy if it is found to be in conflict with Federal or State law has been moved to the beginning of the policy.
- New wording has been added to stress the importance of a BPs alignment with district vision and goals.
- The requirement for a public copy (policy manual) to maintained at the district office and at the school sites has been removed; these are now listed on the District’s website.
Board Bylaw No. 9310 was approved at first reading on August 23.

None.
Recommended Action:
That the Board approve Board Bylaw No. 9310, Board Policies at second reading, as presented.
