Background:
As part of the future development of the North Bayshore area and the potential increase of the student enrollment as of result of the planned 9800+ housing units being constructed, the District wants to start facilities master planning for schools to be built in that area.
The District distributed a Request for Proposals to the current pool of architectural firms for submissions. Three firms responded. The Superintendent and Chief Business Officer scored the three proposals separately using a 300-point rubric. Once scored, the individual scores were averaged and Artik Art & Architecture was the selected firm.
Upon award, staff will work with Artik to complete the contract documents. That contract will be brought to the Board at the August 23, 2018 board meeting for ratification.
The scope of work includes several meetings and planning sessions with staff and community members. Over an estimated 20-month period, the architectural firm will facilitate the process from the facilities needs and wishes to the conceptual design for new schools in North Bayshore.

That the Board of Trustees award the architectural master plan project for the North Bayshore facilities master planning to Artik Art & Architecture for a proposed amount of $396,000, plus reimbursables.
