Background: 

Staff is requesting the Board of Trustees delegate the authority to accept low apparent bids and enter into construction contracts from June 1, 2018 through August 23, 2018 to the Superintendent or Chief Business Officer.

 

The Capital Projects program of the District needs to continue during the summer when the Board of Trustees is in recess, and significant matter of accepting low apparent bids needs to continue during the month of June, July and August.  The Board of Trustees has approved a 2017-2018 budget and multi-year projection, with summer projects to be completed.  All construction contracts entered into by the Superintendent or Chief Business officer during the June 1-August 17, 2018 term will be brought to the Board of Trustees at the August 23, 2018 Board Meeting for review or ratification.

None.

Recommended Action: 
That the Board of Trustees approve Resolution Number 1674.5/18, Authorizing the Superintendent or Chief Business Officer to accept low apparent bids and enter into contracts for summer 2018 construction projects.
