Agenda Item Title: Castro/Mistral New Construction Project Phase 2 Change Order No. 4 – BHM Construction

Background:
During the Castro/Mistral New Construction Project Phase 2, unforeseen conditions, design changes, and owner requests have occurred, resulting in additions/changes in scope to the original project. These additions/changes require contingency money to be used. The contingency monies required for Change Order #4 will not exceed $333,850. A summary of Change Order #4 is attached.
Fiscal Implication:
The total construction contingency of $2,392,400 was budgeted for this project.
Change Order #1 for $46,412 was approved on June 15, 2017.
Change Order #2 for ($318,437) was approved on September 7, 2017.
Change Order #3 for $101,382 was approved on February 1, 2018.
Change Order #4 for $333,850 will reduce the remaining contingency amount to $2,229,193, with 76% of the project complete.
Recommended Action:
That the Board of Trustees approve Change Order #4 for the Castro/Mistral New Construction Project Phase 2 in the amount of $333,850.
