Background: 
On November 19, 2015, the District's Governing Board approved Resolution No. 1580.11/15 delegating authority to award contracts to the District's Superintendent, Chief Business Officer, Associate Superintendent(s), and Assistant Superintendent(s) pursuant to Education Code sections 17604 and 17605.

 

All contracts approved by those authorized to do so pursuant to that delegation authority are to be submitted to the District's Governing Board for ratification. Contracts that do not, however, involve an expenditure in excess of the bid limits specified in Public Contract Code section 20111 need only be reviewed by the District's Governing Board every 60 days.  The applicable bid limits are $15,000 for construction contracts and $88,300 in 2017 (adjusted annually) for the purchase of equipment, materials, supplies, non-construction services, or repairs including maintenance.

 

Presented for ratification are the following contract (s):

 

  1. Santa Clara County Office of Ed. - Provide Technical QSS and Network Access Services, $122,187.50

 

Presented for review are the following contract(s):

 

  1. ALearn/Elevate - A summer math, college readiness, and growth program designed for incoming 5th through 8th grade students, no cost to MVWSD.
  2. First 5 of Santa Clara County - Agreement to participate in QRIS rating and new data system i.e. iPinwheel. no cost to MVWSD
  3. Foothill De Anza Community College - Mini-MERIT Summer professional development to promote a synthesis of content, technology, and pedagogy, $20,000
  4. Mentor Tutor Connection - To enhance academic and life skills for students through volunteer tutoring program, no cost to MVWSD
  5. Santa Cruz Silicon Valley New Teacher Project - MOU to increase student achievement through quality teacher induction program, $85,000
  6. Symon Hayes - Project Based Learning training to grade levels at Stevenson School, $3,000
  7. Thoughtexchange - Amendment to provide Leader Licenses, no cost to MVWSD
  8. Mind Research Institute - ST Math Software for elementary schools, $30,000
  9. Staff Rehab, Special Education staffing support, hours as needed
