Background:
At the meeting of the Board of Trustees on January 19, 2017, the Board adopted the procedures for evaluating qualifications of lease leaseback contractors and subsequently approved the issuance of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Theuerkauf Project at the meeting of the Board of Trustees on January 4, 2018.
A total of ten (10) firms attended the pre-proposal meeting on January 17, 2018. Of those ten, a total of five submitted prequalification packets and proposals. All five achieved pre-approved status and were invited to the interview process.
On February 8, 2018, those five firms were interviewed, and a score card was prepared by each of the panelists. Coulter Construction, Inc. was found to be the proposer demonstrating the best overall value for the subject project.
Fiscal Implication:
A contract in the amount of $29,960 will be issued to Coulter Construction, Inc. for preconstruction services with future Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contracts to be awarded incrementally for the Phase 1 - Classroom, Administration and Library Buildings Modernization and Phase 2 - MUR Modernization and Expansion projects. This contract and future awarded GMP contracts will be charged to Measure G.
Recommended Action:
That the Board of Trustees award the lease-leaseback contract to Coulter Construction, Inc. for preconstruction services in the amount of $29,960 as the Lease-Leaseback Contractor for the Theuerkauf Projects with future GMP contracts to be awarded incrementally.
