Agenda Item Title: Award the Lease-Leaseback Contract for the Construction of New School on the Slater Elementary School Campus to Rodan Construction (2 minutes)

Background:
At the meeting of the Board of Trustees on January 19, 2017, the Board adopted the procedures for evaluating qualifications of lease leaseback contractors and subsequently approved the issuance of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Slater Project at the meeting of the Board of Trustees on January 4, 2018.
A total of nine (9) firms attended the pre-proposal meeting on January 17th, 2018. Of those nine, a total of four submitted prequalification packets and proposals. All four achieved pre-approved status and were invited to the interview process.
On February 8, 2018 those four firms were interviewed, and a score card was prepared by each of the panelists. Rodan Builders, Inc. was found to be the proposer demonstrating the best overall value for the subject project.
Fiscal Implication:
A contract in the amount of $50,000 will be issued to Rodan Builders, Inc. for preconstruction services with future Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contracts to be awarded incrementally for the Phase 1 - Sitework, Phase 2 - MUR, and Phase 3 - Modular and Turf Installation. This contract and future awarded GMP contracts will be charged to Measure G.
Recommended Action:
That the Board of Trustees award the lease-leaseback contract to Rodan Builders, Inc. in the amount of $50,000 for preconstruction services as the Lease-Leaseback Contractor for the new school on the Slater Elementary School campus construction project with future guaranteed maximum price contracts to be awarded incrementally.
