Background:
During the Mariano Castro Elementary School and Gabriela Mistral Elementary School Phase 2 New Construction Project, unforeseen conditions, design changes, and owner requests have occurred, resulting in additions/changes in scope to the original project. These additions/changes require contingency money to be used. Change Order No. 3 will not exceed $101,382. A summary of Change Order No. 3 is attached.
The total construction contingency of $2,392,400 was budgeted for this project.
Change Order #1 for $46,412 was approved on June 15, 2017.
Change Order #2 for ($318,437) was approved on September 7, 2017.
Fiscal Implication:
A total construction contingency of $2,392,400 is budgeted for this project.
Change Order No. 3 for $101,382 results in a remaining contingency balance of $2,563,043. To date, 70% of the project is complete.
Recommended Action: That the Board of Trustees approve Change Order No. 3, for the Mariano Castro Elementary School and Gabriela Mistral Elementary School Phase 2 New Construction Project.
