Background: 

The following contracts have been provided to the District’s governing Board (Board) for ordering payment and for ratification.

 

The Board approved on November 7, 2024, Resolution No. 06-110724, delegating the authority to award contracts contained in Education Code section 17604 to the District's Superintendent, Chief Business Officer, Associate Superintendent(s), and Assistant Superintendent(s), altogether, Authorized Individuals. Contracts awarded by Authorized Individuals under Resolution No. 06-110724 are Delegated Contracts.”  The Board limited the delegated authority for Delegated Contracts with the following additional requirements:

 

  • Student Services.  No limit for classroom-based services for individual students, services related to Individual Education Plans, or other special education services;
  • Construction, Repairs or Maintenance. $220,000 limit for construction, repair or maintenance services utilizing a resolution passed in 2004 to utilize the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Account Act (CUPCCAA);
  • Services. $50,000 limit, per vendor per year, for all other services;
  • Equipment, Materials and Supplies. Up to the current bid limit for equipment, materials and supplies ($114,500 in 2024; Public Contract Code §20111).

 

The Business Office conducts a review of contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions. However, the responsibility for evaluating the quality and delivery of services outlined in the contract rests with the staff members who negotiate the agreements.

 

This agenda item is for ratification of the following contracts:

  1. Amplify- Will provide mClass reading difficulty screener to be used from kinder through 5th grade from 2025-2027, $26,970.00.
  2. Analytic- Will provide a cloud-based software as a service solution for the management of human resources and financial functions for the 2025-2026 school year, $14,947.00.
  3. Avalon Transportation LLC- Will provide transportation for all 4th grade students, teachers, and chaperones assisting the upcoming Columbia Gold Rush field trip on May 28, 2025, $5,598.00.
  4. Bay Area Jump- Will provide carnival games for the May 21, 2025 Health and Wellness Resource Fair at Castro Elementary, $1,793.52.
  5. Care Solace Inc.- Will provide an Electronic Health and Record and billing support for participation in the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative from 2025-2027, $1.50 per student per year, plus 7% of approved claims value.
  6. Churros El Guero- Will provide pre-made churros with toppings for the May 21, 2025 Health and Wellness Resource Fair at Castro Elementary, $1,000.00.
  7. City of Mountain View- The MVWSD Transportation department will transport Deer Hollow Farm Camp students from June 16, 2025 through August 1, 2025, No cost to the District, the City of Mountain View will reimburse MVWSD.
  8. Communicaid Inc.- Will provide interpreting services to the Special Education Department for the 2025-2026 school year, Not to exceed $10,000.00.
  9. Community School of Music and Arts- Will provide music and art classes for all elementary schools by professional arts educators/teaching artists for the 2025-2026, MVEF funded, $546,797.00.
  10. Concordia University Irvine- Will provide an agreement for PPS School Counseling fieldwork student placements in Mountain View Whisman for the 2025-2026 school year, No cost to the District.
  11. Construction Inspection Services, Inc.- Will provide inspection services for the Roofing Replacement and Repair Project at Crittenden, Bubb, Imai, and Landels, $12,400.00.
  12. Crystal Creamery- Will provide a contract extension for the 2025-2026 school year for the purchase of milk, $180,000.00.
  13. Curriculum Associates, LLC- Will provide a subscription renewal for 12 months for the 2025-2026 school year, $17,537.50.
  14. Emergency & Health Training Center Inc- Will provide pediatric CPR and First Aid certification for preschool staff from August 6, 2025 through May 31, 2026, Not to exceed $2,100.00.
  15. Gold Star Foods Inc.- Will provide a contract extension for the 2025-2026 school year for the purchase of groceries and commodities, $275,000.00.
  16. Hercules Achievement, LLC. dba Varsity Yearbook- Will provide yearbooks for the 2025-2026 school year for all students at Crittenden, $11,136.00.
  17. John Hopkins University- Will provide Algebra II Honors courses for 2 MVWSD students who have passed out of MVWSD math courses.  Services will be provided for the 2025-2026 school year, $3,078.00.
  18. Jose Valdes Math Foundation- Will provide the first amendment to the Valdes Math contract approved by the MVWSD Board on April 3, 2025.  Amendment is for change of program location from Stanford University to San Jose State University and changes of program dates to June 16, 2025-July 21,2025, No cost.
  19. Kate O'Malley- Will provide Early Education Coaching and support services for the Preschool staff from August 1, 2025 through May 31, 2026, $25,000.00.
  20. Kate O'Malley- Will provide Early Education Coaching and support services for TK staff from August 1, 2025 through May 31, 2026, $6,600.00.
  21. Killroy Pest Control- Will provide general pest service and specialized treatments, district-wide for the 2025-2026 school year, $45-$350 per service.
  22. Lakeshore Learning Materials LLC- Will provide Professional Development for PreK and TK staff from August, 2025 through June, 2026, Not to exceed $3,750.00.
  23. Living Classroom- Will provide hands-on garden based lesson in edible and native gardens cultivated at each school for the 2025-2026 school year, $140,000.00.
  24. MarcoPolo Learning- Will provide an Educators Subscription which includes supplemental digital materials to support lesson planning, instruction, and implementation of the preschool curriculum for the 2025-2026 school year, $7,500.00.
  25. Mobile Modular Management Corporation- Will provide a fourth contract amendment to extend the lease of three portable buildings at Landels Elementary School for the 2025-2026 school year, $27,597.96.
  26. New York Pizza- Will provide a contract extension for the 2025-2026 school year for the purchase of pizza, $225,000.00.
  27. Pacific Office Automation- Will provide a lease of copy machines at Bubb, Crittenden, Landels, Graham, Castro, Monta Loma, and Theurkauf pursuant to Sourcewell Master Contract No. 112124-RSO.  Pacific Office Automation's form of contract was utilized due to the nature of the contract, a lease for a tangible object, and the timing of the procurement.  Services provided from 2025 through 2030, $29,280.00.
  28. Pacific Rim Produce- Will provide a contract extension for the 2025-2026 school year for the purchase of produce, $150,000.00
  29. Pitney Bowes- Will provide a postage meter service, district-wide from 2025-2030, $12,076.80.
  30. Playworks Education Energized- Will provide an on-site programmatic launch, training, and in-person consultation services that will teach strategies, games and systems to develop and sustain a positive educational culture for all Mistral Elementary students for the 2025-2026 school year, $38,000.00.
  31. Playworks Education Energized- Will provide an on-site programmatic launch, training, and in-person consultation services that will teach strategies, games and systems to develop and sustain a positive educational culture for all Castro Elementary students for the 2025-2026 school year, $38,000.00.
  32. Santa Clara County Office of Education- Will provide Inclusion Collaborative Professional Learning Opportunities Coaching, and Technical Support services for the preschool department for the 2025-2026 school year, $10,150.00.
  33. Santa Clara County Office of Education- Will provide a Librarian of Record services to MVWSD  for compliance only for the 2025-2026 school year, $6,886.50.
  34. Santa Clara County Office of Education- Will provide Professional Development for PreK staff on August 8, 2025, and October 9, 2025 Teaching Pyramid Module 3 Deep Dive, $4,750.00.
  35. Santa Clara County Office of Education- Will provide Professional Development for Transitional Kindergarten staff on August 11, 2025 for Make N take 12 teachers, and January 5, 2026 for Calm Down Tools, $11,750.00.
  36. School Services of California Inc.- Will provide assistance in regards to issues of school finance, legislation school budgeting, general fiscal issues, and the state-mandated program cost claims process for the 2025-2026 school year, $5,745.00.
  37. Sophia Zalot- Will provide coverage for the Director of Child Nutrition, Debbie Austin.  Debbie Austin will be on leave starting June 1, 2025, Not to exceed $2,250 per week.
  38. Teaching Strategies, LLC- Will provide family engagement/classroom resources, access to videos modeling developmentally appropriate activities for parents to implement at home to support their children's learning from September 3, 2025 through September 2, 2026, $3,120.00.
  39. The Bonami Baking Company Inc.- Will provide a contract extension for the 2025-2026 school year for the purchase of baked goods, $250,000.00.
  40. West Coast Arborists Inc.- Will provide arborist services, district-wide for the 2025-2026 school year, Not to exceed $60,000.00.
  41. Western Roofing Service- Will provide roofing repair, preventative maintenance, and emergency response services, district-wide, for the 2025-2026 school year, Not to exceed $45,000.00.
  42. YMCA Project Cornerstone- Will provide support for MVWSD in efforts to provide a positive school climate by educating both adults and students on how to create an environment where all youth succeed and thrive for the 2025-2026 school year, $12,705.00.
