Background:
Education Code 37299, subdivision (a) allows the governing board to revise the date that schools close in observance of any holiday identified in subdivision (a) through the adoption of a resolution. Activities in the classrooms and throughout the schools in observance of Lincoln Day will not be dismissed by moving the legal holiday from February 12, 2026 to February 16, 2026.
This allows Mountain View Whisman School District to align our calendar with the Mountain View-Los Altos High School District as a service to our community.

Staff recommend that the Board adopt Resolution No. 04-030625, Change of Date of School Holiday as presented.
