Background:
These policies are ones for which the California School Board Association has made revisions to recommended policies. Updating MVWSD’s policies with CSBA recommendations will bring them into alignment with California Ed Code, state and/or federal law. June, July and September 2024 CSBA updates are included here, in addition to policies that were found to be out of date based on an internal audit of MVWSD policies.
The corresponding Administrative Regulations (ARs) will be reviewed and then posted by staff for implementation after the policies have been approved by the Board. It is anticipated that the ARs will be updated in the next month.
Staff anticipates another update from CSBA in January 2015 and will bring those policies for Board consideration.
Policies were presented to the Board as a discussion item at the December 19, 2024 meeting. The policies below were requested for further Trustee discussion.
Note:
The revised BP 4040, Employee Use of Technology addresses employee use of technology, including artificial intelligence (AI). MVWSD recognizes that this policy may need to be updated in the near future as the District’s use of new technology evolves. Once the board policy is approved, we will update the acceptable use agreement to include the additional language regarding AI usage.
