Background: 

On November 19, 2015, the District's Governing Board approved Resolution No. 1580.11/15 delegating authority to award contracts to the District's Superintendent, Chief Business Officer, Associate Superintendent(s), and Assistant Superintendent(s) (altogether, “Authorized Individuals”) pursuant to Education Code sections 17604 and 17605 (“Delegation Statutes”). Contracts awarded by Authorized Individuals under the Delegation Statutes shall be “Delegated Contracts.”

 

Delegated Contracts must be ratified by the District’s Governing Board (“Board”), unless they are under the bid limits set forth in Public Contract Code (“PCC”) section 20111, in which case they only need to be reviewed by the Board every 60 days. The bid limits under PCC section 20111 are $15,000 for public projects (“Construction Contracts”) and $114,500 in 2024 (adjusted annually) for equipment, materials, supplies, non-construction services, or repairs, including maintenance (“Non-Construction Contracts”).

 

Therefore, for Delegated Contracts:

 

·       Construction Contracts over $15,000 and Non-Construction Contracts over $114,500 must be ratified by the Board, and

 

·       Construction Contracts under $15,000 and Non-Construction Contracts under $114,500 need only be reviewed by the Board every 60 days.

 

We now present the following contract(s) for ratification and/or review:

 
  1. Center for Children and Youth - A Division of Jewish Family & Children's Services - will provide two parent workshops, with recordings, for Preschool between 11/8/24 - 6/30/25. $800.00
  2. Green Speech Therapy - will provide a Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2024-2025 school year, to replace a current contract Speech/Language Pathologist going out on maternity leave. Not to exceed $66,976.00
  3. Peopleologie - will provide art assemblies on 12/16/24, 1/27/25, 5/18/25 for students at Amy Imai Elementary. $1,770.00
  4. SaveNature.Org - will provide 2 insect discovery lab presentations for 2nd grade students at Bubb on 2/3/25. $470.00
  5. Social and Environmental Entrepreneurs (SEE) Inc. - will train volunteers and provide resources for math night community event for all Landels families on 11/15/24. $800.00
  6. Starting Arts Inc. - will provide theater production for 60 students in grades 3-5, with a final performance in April 2025 at Imai Elementary. $1,000.00

Recommended Action: 

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees ratify or review the contracts, as presented.
