Background: 

On November 19, 2015, the District's Governing Board approved Resolution No. 1580.11/15 delegating authority to award contracts to the District's Superintendent, Chief Business Officer, Associate Superintendent(s), and Assistant Superintendent(s) pursuant to Education Code sections 17604 and 17605.

 

All contracts approved by those authorized to do so pursuant to that delegation authority are to be submitted to the District's Governing Board for ratification. Contracts that do not, however, involve an item of expenditure in excess of the bid limits specified in Public Contract Code section 20111 need only be reviewed by the District's Governing Board every 60 days.  The applicable bid limits are $15,000 for construction contracts and $114,500 in 2024 (adjusted annually) for the purchase of equipment, materials, supplies, non-construction services, or repairs including maintenance.

 

Presented for ratification are the following contract(s): 

  1. Atikinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo- Will provide upon request legal and non-legal consultant services on the District's Special Education Department's behalf for the 2024-2025 school year, Not to exceed $290,000.00.
  2. Community School of Music and Arts- Will provide art and music classes for the elementary school for the 2024-2025 school year, $536,980.00.
  3. Rhythm and Moves Inc.- Will provide a Physical Education Program for MVWSD elementary schools for the 2024-2025 school year, $926,840.00.

 

Presented for review are the following contract(s):

  1. Community School of Music and Arts- Provided three after school 1 hour chorus programs for grades 2-5 for Imai Elementary students throughout the 2023-2024 school year, $1,350.00.
  2. County of Santa Clara- Through the Office of the County Counsel, the County will provide legal services for MVWSD, including but not limited to research and general advice. Hourly rate of $296.00 for attorneys $139.00 for paralegals for the 2024-2025 school year.
  3. GreeneSport Association- will provide referee services for after school sporting events at Crittenden Middle during the 2024-2025 school year, $9,510.00.
  4. Healthier Kids Foundation- Will provide vision, dental, hearing screening and potentially wellness screenings for students in preschool.  This MOU is a five year agreement from 2024-2029, $18,975.00.
  5. Karen Natoci- Will provide AAC Training for Teachers and Speech Language Pathologist for the 2024-2025 school year, $15,000.00.
  6. Learning A-Z- Will provide a license renewals for Federal, State, Strategic Programs and Special Education for the 2024-2025 school year, $89,299.00.
  7. Living Classroom- Will provide NGSS-aligned, environmental literacy instruction to students in TK through 6th grade for the 2024-2025 school year, $75,000.00.
  8. Los Altos Union School District- Will provide a temporary employee exchange to perform services in support of Deaf/Hard of Hearing program for the 2024-2025 school year, $66,587.28.
  9. Peninsula Bridge- Will provide an after school program for extended learning in math and language arts for 4-7th grade students for the 2024-2025 school year, $30,000.00.
  10. Rhythm and Moves Inc.- Will provide a Physical Education Program for students in TK and Kinder at Imai Elementary for the 2024-2025 school year, $9,987.50.
  11. Sage Renewable Energy Consulting Inc. dba NV5- Will provide assistance with the Inflation Reduction Act Funding Reimbursement from June 2024 through February 2025, $15,000.00.
  12. School Services of California Inc.- Will provide assistance in regards to issues of school finance, legislation, school budgeting, general fiscal issues, and the state-mandated program cost claims process for the 2024-2025 school year, $5,480.00.
  13. Science is Elementary- Will provide a Science Learning Lab Program teaching elementary schools scientific thinking through hands-on experiments and classroom discussions for the 2024-2025 school year, $12,500.00.
  14. Sown to Grow, Inc.- Will provide core modules and screener access for emotional check-in or academic check-in for elementary schools and 6th grade students for the 2024-2025 school year, $31,625.00.
  15. Speech Therapy Link, Inc.- Will provide speech therapy to special education students during the Extended School Year 2024 from June 1, 2024 through July 30, 2024, $9,600.00.
  16. WeVideo- School site subscription. WeVideo is an online, cloud-based video editing platform. Multiple year contract, $10,350.00
