Background:
California Proposition 39, known as the School Facilities Local Vote Act, reduced the threshold needed to pass local California school district bond issues from a two-thirds supermajority vote to a 55 percent vote. California Education Code Section 15728 established requirements for a Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) to be established when bond measures are passed under Prop 39. The committee is comprised of local residents whose main charge is to inform the public of how their bond dollars are spent. The letter attached is the report out from the CBOC to the Board and public.

Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees accept the Bond Oversight Committee Report 2023-2024, as presented.
