Agenda Item Title: Award of Contract to American Asphalt, Inc. for the Edith Landels Elementary School Paving Upgrade Project

Background:
The Board will consider awarding a contract for the Edith Landels Elementary School Paving Upgrade Project. On March 18, 2024, the District received contractor bids for the Edith Landels Elementary School Paving Upgrade Project. Eleven proposals were received, and the apparent low responsive and responsible bidder is American Asphalt, Inc. The District's Measure T Bond Program manager, Greystone West, has reviewed the proposal for conformance with District and statutory requirements.
Fiscal Implication:
The construction budget for this project was $376,638.00. The base bid received from American Asphalt, Inc. is in the amount of $189,318.00. A $25,000.00 allowance for unforeseen conditions will also be included in the contract amount in accordance with the bid documents which brings the contract value to $214,318.00. The bid amount is within the budget for the project. This contract is charged to Measure T funds.
Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees award the contract to American Asphalt, Inc. for the Edith Landels Elementary School Paving Upgrade Project.
