Background: 
January 1, 2024 marks the beginning of Poverty Awareness Month. MVWSD recognizes the importance of reflecting thoughtfully on the history of pain and oppression people in poverty endure and that continues. We likewise recognize families living in poverty in our own community and commit further to providing the necessary supports to help bring as many families as possible out of the cycle of poverty.
