Background:
The District has been fiscally conservative, which has benefited employees and students. It has given the District the ability to quickly respond to the needs of students and be financially solvent. Due to one-time funds and revenue coming in higher than expected, the District would like to provide staff with a one-time payment. The district is in the third year of a multi-year agreement with both negotiating units (MVEA and CSEA).
This payment reflects the wish to provide employees with additional compensation based on the current financial position of the district.
2023-2024 One-Time Payment (off-schedule): The District shall provide to each eligible employee a one-time, off-schedule payment of four percent (4%) based on a unit member's 2023-2024 placement on the salary schedule (prorated based on the employees FTE) as of the date of the Governing Board approval. This amount will be paid in November. An employee must be in paid status with the District as of the date the Board approves the one-time payment.
This MOU will be effective upon ratification by the Associations and approval by the Governing Board, whichever is later.
