Board Policy (BP)  Update 6143

Overview of Policy

Board Policy (BP) 6143 is required for elementary districts and certifies to Superintendent of Public Instruction that the District is implementing a sequence of instruction that is well-aligned and sufficiently prepares students for secondary school course of study.

Summary List of Changes in the Policy

-Small wording changes have been made for clarification (growth instead of progress etc.)

-New paragraph to ensure access to all students to a a well-aligned sequence of instruction in conjunction with Education Code 200, 220; Government Code 11135; Penal Code 422.55; 5 CCR 4940.
