Background:
For the 2022-2023 fiscal year, Mountain View Whisman School District did not spend the minimum percentage of its budget on classroom teacher salaries as required by EC Section 41372. We are requesting an exemption from this requirement as provided by law. The reason for the request is that Mountain View School District payment of classroom teacher salaries that in excess of those paid by other comparable school districts. In 2022-2023 contracted services increased to backfill vacant positions needed to provide services.

Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the application for exemption form required expenditures for Classroom Teachers’ Salaries as submitted.
