Agenda Item Title: Request for Approval of RFP#2023-24-05 Grocery Products for 2023-2024 School Year

Background:
Child Nutrition Services Program (CNS) solicited RFP#2023-24-05 SPS for Grocery Products for school year 2023-24 following the federal competitive bid procedures for non-commodity commercial and grocery food items used to support child feeding programs. RFP#2023-24-05 SPS for Grocery Products for school year 2023-24 was publicized for two weeks and was mailed to Sysco, Gold Star Foods, and The Danielsen Food Service Specialist.
On bid opening day, June 19th, we received bids from The Danielsen Food Service Specialists, Gold Star Foods and Sysco.
Fiscal Implication:
As quantities are estimated, we anticipate the bid award portions as follows:
SYSCO: $85,850
GOLDSTAR: $156,832
DANIELSON: $151,080
Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees award the food products bid and contract for RFP#2023-24-05 for 2023-2024 across three vendors including Sysco, Gold Star Foods, and The Danielsen Food Service Specialists, based on proposal scoring and price.
