Agenda Item Title: Request for Approval of RFP#2023-24-01 Produce for 2023-2024 School Year

Background:
Child Nutrition Services Program (CNS) solicited RFP#2023-24-01 SPS for Produce for school year 2023-24 following the federal competitive bid procedures for non-commodity commercial and grocery food items used to support child feeding programs. RFP#2023-24-01 SPS for Produce for school year 2023-24 was publicized for two weeks and was mailed to Bay Cities Produce, Pacific Rim, Daylight Foods , General Produce, Watsonville Coast, Food 4 Thought, Gold Star Foods, The Fruit Guys, Veritable Vegetable, Greenleaf, Mollie Stone's Markets, Great West Gourmet, Shasta Produce, Mercado Latino, Inc., Great West Produce Company, Ag Link, Pro Pacific Fresh, Arcadio's, and Brady Industries IFS.
On bid opening day, June 19th, we received RFP's from Pacific Rim, Ag Link, Watsonville Coast Produce, and Sysco that met all RFP requirements. Arcadios Produce Inc. turned in a bid, but was missing their Safety Plan and was rejected during the evaluation process as a result.
Fiscal Implication:
We anticipate the bid award to be $57,950. Please note quantities are estimated.
Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees award the food products bid and contract for RFP#2023-24-01 for 2023-2024 to Pacific Rim.
