Background: 

On November 19, 2015, the District's Governing Board approved Resolution No. 1580.11/15 delegating authority to award contracts to the District's Superintendent, Chief Business Officer, Associate Superintendent(s), and Assistant Superintendent(s) pursuant to Education Code sections 17604 and 17605.

 

All contracts approved by those authorized to do so pursuant to that delegation authority are to be submitted to the District's Governing Board for ratification. Contracts that do not, however, involve an item of expenditure in excess of the bid limits specified in Public Contract Code section 20111 need only be reviewed by the District's Governing Board every 60 days.  The applicable bid limits are $15,000 for construction contracts and $109,300 in 2023 (adjusted annually) for the purchase of equipment, materials, supplies, non-construction services, or repairs including maintenance.

 

Presented for ratification are the following contract(s): 

  1. BradyIFS- Will provide trash, recycling, and composting receptacles for all school sites, $266,709.50.
  2. Children's Health Council-Esther B Clark School- Will provide Non Public School (NPS) student placement per student IEP for the 2023-2024 school year and ESY, $523,618.00.
  3. Creative Learning Center- Will provide Non Public School (NPS) student placement per student IEP for the 2023-2024 school year and ESY, $398,122.00.
  4. Ed Theory LLC- Will provide SPED staffing support for the 2023-2024 school year, $127,000.00.
  5. Morgan Autism Center- Will provide a Non Public School (NPS) student placement per student IEP for the 2023-2024 school year and ESY, $255,424.00.
  6. Mountain View Los Altos High School District- Will provide a temporary loan of an MVLA professional contractor to perform services/support in the Audiology program for the 2023-2024 school year, $140,268.63.
  7. Sound & Signal Inc.- Will provide annual testing of the fire alarm systems, district-wide, from 2023-2026, $225,810.00.
  8. Woodberry Associates - Woodberry assists MVWSD staff in developing communications strategy, and shaping a cohesive and compelling narrative that spotlights the district’s innovative initiatives among national and regional media and professional organizations. $180,000.00

 

Presented for review are the following contract(s): 

  1. ALULA - Facilitation services for Cabinet and Leadership meetings $31,200.00
  2. BlueViolet - Wellness through mindfulness services designed to help manage and reduce daily stress levels that can negatively impact wellbeing, $26,250.00
  3. Cleary Consultants - Proposal to provide soil engineering observation and testing services during the construction of the Emergency Standby Generator project at Landels School NTE $6500.00.
  4. Community School of Music and Art (CSMA): Will provide art and music classes to preschool students for the 2023-2024 school year, $5,000.00.
  5. Dr. Samuel O. Ortiz- Will provide SPED staff with professional development training on August 10 and 11, 2023, $10,000.00.
  6. Early Care & Education Pathways to Success- Will provide a partnership between MVWSD and Santa Clara County Quality Matters Apprenticeship Program Cohort 2 in alignment with the goals of FIRST 5 in strengthening workforce development for the 2023-2024 school year, No cost to the District.
  7. Emergency Health & Training Center- Will provide EMSA-certified, Pediatric CPS/First Aid training that meets the requirements of Community Care Licensing regulations for Preschool staff for the 2023-2024 school year, $2,400.00.
  8. GreeneSport Association- Will provide sports officiating services for Graham's after school sports program for the 2023-2024 school year, $13,568.00.
  9. Herff Jones- Will provide yearbooks for the 2023-2024 school year at Crittenden middle, $8,639.43.
  10. Jack Schreder & Associates Inc.- Will provide a developer fee justification study to determine if a reasonable relationship exists between new residential commercial, and industrial development and the need for new and/or reconstructed school facilities in the District, $5,913.00.
  11. Kate O'Malley- Will provide professional development services for Preschools staff from August 1, 2023 through June 1, 2024, Not to exceed $20,000.00.
  12. Mountain View Los Altos School District- Will provide a temporary loan of a MVLA Professional Contractor to perform services/support in our DHH program for the 2023-2024 school year, $33,000.00.
  13. Orbach Huff + Henderson LLP- Will provide the District with representation in matters related to its facilities program and on other matters from time to time as the District may request upon mutual agreement, partners $345/hr, senior counsel $315/hr, associates $305/hr, and paralegals $195/hr.
  14. Paul H Brookes Publishing Co.- Will provide a subscription renewal for ASQ Enterprise and ASQ Family Access for Preschool for the 2023-2024 school year, $849.90.
  15. Playworks Education Energized- Will provide a 4-day recess reboot on-site program and a virtual/in-person consultation visits from August 18, 2023 through June 31, 2024, $16,500.00.
  16. Science is Elementary- Will provide scientific thinking through hands-on experiments and robust classroom discussions to elementary sites for the 2023-2024 school year, $8,800.00.
  17. Sound & Signal Inc.- Will provide monitoring of the panic/fire/intrusion button system, district-wide, from 2023-2025, $11,700.00.
  18. Susan Hentz & Associates- Will provide professional development for SPED on co-teaching on August 4, 2023, $4,500.00.
  19. Teaching Strategies for Early Childhood- Will provide license renewal for ReadyRoside Classroom Resources from September 3, 2023 through September 2, 2024, $2,700.00.
  20. Weingarten Children's Center- Will provide Non Public School (NPS) student placement per student IEP for the 2023-2024 school year, $2,850.00.
