Agenda Item Title:  Authorization for Superintendent to Execute a Construction Contract for the District Office Alterations Project Office Addition

Background: 

At the meeting of the Board of Trustees on April 6, 2023, the Board approved the design services contract for Dreiling Terrones Architecture (DTA) for the design services for the District Office Alterations Project. Phase 1 of that project includes the conversion of the existing Board Conference Room to an office space and the conversion of the existing staff development room to the Board Conference Room. That project is currently out for bid with a bid opening date of June 29, 2023. In order to proceed with the work this summer the administration is asking the Board to Authorize the Superintendent to enter into and execute a construction contract with the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for this project provided the bid amount is within the established project budget. The contract would then be brought to the Board of Trustees for ratification in August of 2023.



Fiscal Implication:

This project is charged to State Facility Funds.



Recommended Action: 

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees authorize the Superintendent to enter into and execute a construction contract with the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for this project following the bid opening.
