Agenda Item Title: Reject all bids for the HVAC Controls Upgrade Phase 4 Project

Background:
The Board will consider for rejection all bids received for the Outdoor Learning Spaces Phase 1 - Vargas Elementary School Tree Replacement. On June 8, 2023, the District received contractor bids for the Outdoor Learning Spaces Phase 1 - Vargas Elementary School Tree Replacement Project. Two (2) proposals were received, and the apparent low responsive and responsible bidder was Scapes, Inc. The construction budget for this project was $271,966.00. The bid received from Scapes, Inc. was $378,300.00.
Fiscal Implication:
There is no impact to the overall project budget.
Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees reject all bids for the Outdoor Learning Spaces Phase 1 - Vargas Elementary School Tree Replacement Project, and authorize staff to re-advertise the project for competitive bid.
