Background: 

On November 19, 2015, the District's Governing Board approved Resolution No. 1580.11/15 delegating authority to award contracts to the District's Superintendent, Chief Business Officer, Associate Superintendent(s), and Assistant Superintendent(s) pursuant to Education Code sections 17604 and 17605.

 

All contracts approved by those authorized to do so pursuant to that delegation authority are to be submitted to the District's Governing Board for ratification. Contracts that do not, however, involve an item of expenditure in excess of the bid limits specified in Public Contract Code section 20111 need only be reviewed by the District's Governing Board every 60 days.  The applicable bid limits are $15,000 for construction contracts and $109,300 in 2023 (adjusted annually) for the purchase of equipment, materials, supplies, non-construction services, or repairs including maintenance.

 

Presented for ratification are the following contract(s): 

  1. 3Chords/Therapy Travelers collectively DBA EPIC - SPED contract staffing for 23/24 school year. $164,560.00
  2. 3Chords/Therapy Travelers collectively DBA EPIC - This SPED contract will be contract staffing soley for Special Education Teachers for the 23/24 school year. $134,640.00
  3. Achieve Kids- Will provide a non public school for SPED student placements for the 2023-2024 school year, $225,410.00.
  4. Acknowledge Alliance- Will provide resilience consultation, coaching, and professional development for staff at all MVWSD sites in order to strengthen the caring capacity of the adults who influence children's lives, and help children develop lifelong resilience and social and emotional wellbeing.  Acknowledge Alliance staff focus on the entire school community through a mental health lens that emphasizes relationships, resilience, strengths, cultural responsiveness, and prevention-focused mental health promotion during the 2023-2024 school year, Up to $476,375.00.
  5. California Department of Education- Will provide the California State Preschool Program Funding Contract from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, No cost to the District $2,076,710.00.
  6. Effective School Solutions- Will provide therapeutic mental health services for SPED students from November 2023 through July 2024, $275,000.00.
  7. Every Special Child- Will provide SPED contract staffing for the 2023-2024 school year, $142,120.00.
  8. RoHealth LLC.- Will provide a SPED staffing contract for the 2023-2024 school year, $734,760.00.
  9. VocoVision, LLC dba, Blazerworks- Will provide SPED contract staffing for the 2023-2024 school year, $201,960.00.

 

Presented for review are the following contract(s): 

  1. Adroit Advanced Technologies Inc.- Will provide SPED student transportation services for the 2023-2024 school year, $20,000.00.
  2. Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Rudd & Romo- Will provide legal services for the Special Education department from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, $50,000.00.
  3. Avalon Transportation, LLC.- Will provide busing services for 8th grade Crittenden students and staff that attend the 2023-2024 Yosemite trip on October 02, 2023 and October 6, 2023, $27,960.00.
  4. California Pediatric Hospitalists, Inc.- Will provide medical doctor review of student treatment plans in order to receive school based services from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2028, to be billed with MBT contract.
  5. Clearly Consultants, Inc.- Will provide geotechnical studies, investigations, recommendations, reporting, special testing and/or special inspection for the Theuerkauf Elementary School Electrical Upgrade Project from June 2023 through August 2023, $8,000.00.
  6. Coach Ken Soccer Academy- Will provide soccer classes for all levels and interested participants at Imai elementary every Thursday from 12:00-1:30 PM from September 14, 2023 through May 24, 2024, $35 per session, Imai will sponsor students up to $3,000.00.
  7. County of Santa Clara Legal Services - The County will provide legal services for MVWSD, including but not limited to research and general advice, $7,000.00.
  8. Grammar Gallery- Will provide a license renewal to support teachers in helping students build their oral language, reading and writing skills from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, $1,375.00.
  9. Hola Language Services- Will provide a two day in-person workshop on Interpreting IEP Meetings for the SPED staff on August 14-15, 2023, $6,000.00.
  10. iInterpret- Will provide interpreting services for SPED parent meetings for the 2023-2024 school year, $25,000.00.
  11. Imagine Learning- Will provide a license renewal for Language Literacy support from July 31, 2023 through July 31, 2024, $14,625.00.
  12. King Consulting - Will provide MVWSD with attendance boundary adjustment and student equity analysis. NTE $54,325.00
  13. Learning A-Z- Will provide license renewal for reading comprehension using RAZ Plus, Raz Plus ELL, Vocabulary A-Z for General Education and SPED student from August 31, 2023 through August 31, 2024, $85,045.20.
  14. Learning Genie- Will provide assessment module licensing and professional development for State Preschool from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, $4,257.00.
  15. Linkedin - Renewal to provides MVWS with access to high quality learning content. $5,115.00
  16. Medical Billing Technologies, Inc.- Will provide services on behalf of MVWSD under LEA Medi-Cal Billing Option Program from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2028, $20,000.00.
  17. Mentor Tutor Connection- Will provide trained volunteers to provide tutoring services to MVWSD students from September 4, 2023 through July 26, 2024, $7,500.00.
  18. Playworks Education Energized- Will provide services under their TeamUp program 4-5 consecutive school days once a month from 8:15 AM to 2:55 PM working with staff on the playground, launching and running a student leadership program and leading SEL lessons at Landels elementary from August 16, 2023 through May 31, 2024, $30,000.00.
  19. Run for Fun- Will provide class theme organized and inclusive activities and games for any and all interested students at Imai elementary during lunch time twice a week from September 12, 2023 through May 24, 2024, $105 per day not to exceed $7,000.00.
  20. Santa Clara County Office of Education- Will provide inclusion collaborative PD for Preschool from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, $5,100.00.
  21. Santa Clara County Office of Education- Will provide librarian of record services from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, $3,391.50.
  22. Second Harvest of Silicon Valley- Will provide funding to MVWSD for the Summer Food Program that will feed adult caregivers of children from June 1, 2023 through August 31, 2023, No Cost to the District up to $9,700.00.
  23. Second Start/Pine Hill- Will provide a non public school for SPED student placements for the 2023-2024 school year, $64,980.00.
  24. Via Adventures- Will provide busing services for 8th grade Graham student and staff attending the Yosemite trip from October 16, 2023 and October 20, 2023, $29,841.60.
  25. Vista- Will provide Newcomer English learning tool for both middle schools from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, $9,143.66.
  26. WestEd Center for Child & Family Studies- Will provide professional development training on Meaningful Observation Teacher for Preschool staff in August of 2023, $3,000.00.
