Background:
The District Wide Mother's Room Pod Project includes the installation of prefabricated private mother's room pods at each of the school sites. The project requires the services of an architectural design firm to assist in design and construction documents specific to placement of the prefabricated pods, ADA accessibility and electrical connections. The pods themselves are a prefabricated item which is not part of the architectural agreement. Also, for approval is the contract for the prefabricated private mother's room pod from Mamava.
District staff is recommending that the Board approve DTA as the architectural design firm for the project and the contract from Mamava.
Fiscal Implication:
DTA proposed a fee for the required services in the amount of $27,065.00. The proposed fee is within the established project budget for design fees.
Mamava fee of $234,300.00 for Pod cost.
Cost will be paid out of State Facility Funds.
Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve DTA as the architectural design firm and award an agreement in the amount of $27,065.00 to DTA for the District Wide Mother's Pods Project and $234,300.00 to Mamava for Pods.
