Background:
On November 19, 2015, the District's Governing Board approved Resolution No. 1580.11/15 delegating authority to award contracts to the District's Superintendent, Chief Business Officer, Associate Superintendent(s), and Assistant Superintendent(s) pursuant to Education Code sections 17604 and 17605.
All contracts approved by those authorized to do so pursuant to that delegation authority are to be submitted to the District's Governing Board for ratification. Contracts that do not, however, involve an item of expenditure in excess of the bid limits specified in Public Contract Code section 20111 need only be reviewed by the District's Governing Board every 60 days. The applicable bid limits are $15,000 for construction contracts and $109,300 in 2023 (adjusted annually) for the purchase of equipment, materials, supplies, non-construction services, or repairs including maintenance.
Presented for ratification are the following contract(s):
- Right at School LLC- This contract amendment with Right at School will allow the ELOP program to cover after-school care for groups of (20) 1st-5th grade students, group of (10) TK students, and group of (20) 6th grade students at all the school sites for the rest of the 2022-2023 school year, up to $2,000,000 depending on participation.
Presented for review are the following contract(s):
- Boris Burtin- Will provide sound engineering support for the spring musical, 4 rehearsals and 3 performances from February 2, 2023 through March 26, 2023, $1,500.00.
- Canopy- Will provide a Summer Expanded Learning Program that will give students the opportunity to learn about trees, no cost to MVWSD.
- CIS Inc.- Will provide 25 hours of on-site DSA inspection services for the Vargas Rollup Door project, $2,750.00.
- Community School of Music and Arts- Will provide after school music/art classes for Imai students from April 6, 2023-May 19, 2023, $2,700.00.
- Community School of Music and Arts- Will provide an Art and Music Summer Program from June 7, 2023 through July 7, 2023, $27,030.00
- Consolidated Networks- Will provide Halo sensors at Graham and Crittenden Middle school, $59,994.00.
- Document Tracking Services- Will provide access to LCAP and School Plan for Student Achievement template for the 2023-2024 school year, $18,062.00.
- Health Connected- Will provide sexual health education programs, Teen Talk/Puberty Talk for the 2023-2024 school year, $62,000.00.
- Inspired Life School Assemblies- Will provide one 45-minute BMX school assembly that focuses on growth mindset and bicycle safety for all Monta Loma students on April 20, 2023, $2,285.00.
- Jose Valdes Math Foundation- Will provide a summer Math Program for students in grades 3-7, district-wide, $39,200.00.
- Santa Cruz/Silicon Valley New Teacher Project- Will provide an accredited Teacher Induction Program for the 2022-2023 school year, $40,000.00.
- The Author Village- Will provide one 40-50 minute author's visit by Joanna Ho for students from kinder-2nd grade at Landels Elementary on April 21, 2023, $1,500.00.
- University of California, Berkeley- Will provide 2 assemblies for Landel's students on Solids, Liquids and Gases on May 23, 2023, $1,125.00.
- Wildmind- Will provide two 45-minute presentation on Animals of the Rainforest on May 12, 2023 for all students at Landels Elementary, $950.00.
- Zearn - Renewal subscription of school accounts for online math lessons for elementary sites and On-Demand Professional Development $22,500.
