Agenda Item Title: Approval of Contract Amendment No. 1 with Artik Art and Architecture for the Park Restrooms project at Castro/Mistral, Imai and Landels Elementary Schools

Background:
At the meeting of the Board of Trustees on November 5, 2020, the Board approved an architectural services agreement with Artik Art and Architecture for the Park Restrooms project. That agreement was predicated on the use of a prefabricated or modular restroom building to match an existing restroom building at the Bubb site which would be submitted through the Division of the State Architect (DSA) as an access only project. However after several rounds of back and forth with DSA, the state architect determined the building would not qualify as an access only project and could not be submitted through DSA. The alternative to DSA for permitting would be through the City of Mountain View's plan review process. That process is more involved than a DSA access only review. As a result, Artik Art and Architecture submitted an additional service request for the additional time and resources needed for permitting the building through the City of Mountain View.
Fiscal Implication:
Contract amendment No. 1 in the amount of $58,500 will be charged to Measure T.
Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve Contract Amendment No. 1 with Artik Art and Architecture for the Park Restrooms project at Castro/Mistral, Imai and Landels Elementary Schools.
