Agenda Item Title: Award of Contract to Guerra Construction Group for the Storage Building Project at Stevenson and Vargas Elementary Schools

Background:
The Board will consider awarding a contract for the Storage Building Project at Stevenson and Vargas Elementary Schools. On October 12, 2022, the District received contractor bids for the Storage Building Project at Stevenson Elementary School and Vargas Elementary School. Two (2) proposals were received, and the apparent low responsive and responsible bidder is Guerra Construction Group. The District's Measure T Bond Program manager, Greystone West, has reviewed the proposal for conformance with District and statutory requirements.
Fiscal Implication:
The construction budget for this project was $402,0509.00. The bid received from Guerra Construction Group is in the amount of $597,444.00. After review of the bid documents and discussions with bidders, the difference in budget and hard cost pricing is largely a result of recent material price increases along with a larger than anticipated electrical scope. Funds for this project are charged to Measure T.
Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees award the contract to Guerra Construction Group for the Storage Building Project at Stevenson and Vargas Elementary Schools.
