Background:
For 2021-2022 fiscal year, Mountain View Whisman School District did not spend the minimum percentage of its budget on classroom teacher salaries as required by EC Section 41372 due to unfilled positions that were then filled by contractors. We are requesting an exemption from this requirement as provided by law. The reason for the request is that Mountain View School District payment of classroom teacher salaries that in excess of those paid by other comparable school districts. In 2021-2022 contracted services increased to backfill vacant positions needed to provided services. If the District had been able to hire all open position it would have exceeded the minimum requirements.

None.
Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the application for exemption from the required expenditures for Classroom Teachers’ Salaries, as submitted.
