Agenda Item Title: Award of Architectural Services Contract to Carducci Associates for the Vargas Elementary School Parking Improvements Project

Background:
The Vargas Elementary School Parking Lot Improvements Project includes the removal of nine (9) Canary Island Pine trees and replacement of those nine removed trees at least a 2:1 ratio resulting in the need for a minimum of eighteen (18) new trees to replace those removed. Carducci Associates has provided a proposal for this work which includes species identification, sizing, placement, and irrigation for the new trees and also includes a site study to determine if additional trees or planting is viable.
Fiscal Implication:
Carducci Associates proposed a fee for the required services in the amount of $9,500.
Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve Carducci Associates as the architectural design firm and award an agreement in the amount of $9,500 to Carducci Associates for the Vargas Elementary School Parking Lot Improvements Project.
