Background:
On November 19, 2015, the District's Governing Board approved Resolution No. 1580.11/15 delegating authority to award contracts to the District's Superintendent, Chief Business Officer, Associate Superintendent(s), and Assistant Superintendent(s) pursuant to Education Code sections 17604 and 17605.
All contracts approved by those authorized to do so pursuant to that delegation authority are to be submitted to the District's Governing Board for ratification. Contracts that do not, however, involve an item of expenditure in excess of the bid limits specified in Public Contract Code section 20111 need only be reviewed by the District's Governing Board every 60 days. The applicable bid limits are $15,000 for construction contracts and $99,100 in 2022 (adjusted annually) for the purchase of equipment, materials, supplies, non-construction services, or repairs including maintenance.
Presented for ratification are the following contract(s):
- Hanover Research - Renewal service agreement K12 custom research agreement $290,850.00 for the 2022-2024 years
- Right at School- Will operate an after-school program from the end of the school day until 6 PM during the 2022-2023 school year at designated elementary and middle schools,$1,300,000.00.
- Santa Clara County Office of Education- The Walden West program will provide outdoor science classes and the conservation education program for 5th grade students, district wide, from September 01, 2022 through June 30, 2023, $212,440.00.
- YMCA- Will operate after-school program from the end of the school day until 6 PM during the 2022-2023 school year at Stevenson and Theuerkauf Elementary Schools, $400,000.00.
Presented for review are the following contract(s):
- A440 Piano Tuning & Repair- Will provide piano tuning and repair for Crittenden Middle School from September 22, 2022 through June 15, 2023, Not to exceed $3,000.00.
- Books Inc.- Will provide an assembly for Landels' Elementary School students in grades 3rd-5th on their newly released book titled, Dungeoneer Adventures, on September 30, 2022, No cost to the District.
- Community School of Music and Art- Will provide art and/or music classes to MVWSD preschool program during the 2022-2023 school year, $3,325.00.
- Kate O'Malley - Coaching and professional development for TK staff on elements of Early Education environments, social emotional strategies, and supporting developmentally appropriate practices, $18,000.00
- Learning Ally- Will provide professional development on the topic of Dyslexia for MVWSD staff during the 2022-2023 school year, $14,636.00.
- Mentor Tutor Connection- Will provide supported learning for MVWSD students through individualized volunteer tutoring and mentoring program from September 9, 2022 through July 31, 2023, $7,500.00.
- Peopleologie- Will provide part virtual and in-person, hands on cross-curricular workshops from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, starting October 5, 2022 through December 15, 2022, for third graders at Imai Elementary School, Not to exceed $1,550.00.
- Weingarten Children's Center- Will provide NPS student placements for the 2022-2023 school year, $76,992.00.
