Background:
On November 19, 2015, the District's Governing Board approved Resolution No. 1580.11/15 delegating authority to award contracts to the District's Superintendent, Chief Business Officer, Associate Superintendent(s), and Assistant Superintendent(s) pursuant to Education Code sections 17604 and 17605.
All contracts approved by those authorized to do so pursuant to that delegation authority are to be submitted to the District's Governing Board for ratification. Contracts that do not, however, involve an item of expenditure in excess of the bid limits specified in Public Contract Code section 20111 need only be reviewed by the District's Governing Board every 60 days. The applicable bid limits are $15,000 for construction contracts and $99,100 in 2022 (adjusted annually) for the purchase of equipment, materials, supplies, non-construction services, or repairs including maintenance.
Presented for ratification are the following contract(s):
- Rhythm and Moves- Will provide Physical Education Program for the 2022-2023 school year, $828,800.00.
- YMCA of Silicon Valley- Will provide a Summer Enrichment Camp at Castro/Mistral from June 13, 2022 through July 8, 2022, $172,800.00.
Presented for review are the following contract(s):
- Analytic- Will provide a cloud-based Software as a service solution for the management of human resources and financial functions of MVWSD from July 01, 2022 through June 30, 2023, $13,879.00.
- Antonio Balestreri- Will provide a total of six (6) bird shows on May 9th and May 23rd to students at Landels Elementary, funded by the PTA, $1,500.00.
- AT&T- The contract allows us to move our existing AT&T services from Calnet 3 to Calnet NextGen, California's new pre-bid pricing contract, in order to maintain lower pricing for existing services, no additional cost to the district.
- Booth Electric Inc.- Will provide services to disconnect and remove all power, communication and fire alarm feeds, and conduits to two (2) portable buildings being removed from Bubb Elementary in June of 2022, $7,610.00.
- Booth Electric Inc.- Will provide services to disconnect and remove all power, communication and fire alarm feeds, and conduits to two (2) portable buildings being removed from Imai Elementary in June of 2022, $7,610.00.
- Construction Inspection Services, Inc.- Will Serve as the Division of State Architect (DSA) Certified Inspector of Record for the HVAC Phase 2 Project at Crittenden, Monta Loma, and Theuerkauf. Funded out of Measure T, $11,500.00.
- Construction Inspection Services, Inc.- Will serves as the Division of State Architect (DSA) Certified Inspector of Record for the Vargas Parking Cover Project. Funded out of Measure T, $7,680.00.
- Duncan Heath- Will provide wrestling referee services for Graham Middle on April 27, 2022, not to exceed $200.00.
- Health Connected- Will provide the District with a sexual health instruction program (Teen Talk & Puberty Talk) for the 2022-2023 school year, $42,475.00.
- José Valdés Math Foundation- Will provide a Summer Math Academy from 06/13/2022 through 07/28/2022 for students in grades 3rd to 7th, district wide, $25,00.00.
- Kimochis- Will provide SEL toolkits for Theuerkauf Elementary to help students' capacity to identify and process their emotions as well as interact in more positive ways with their peers, $6,088.31.
- Lexia Learning Systems- Will provide Core5 Reading Unlimited License with School Success Partnership with Castro Elementary from May 01, 2022 through April 30, 2023, $11,900.00.
- Linkedin- Will provide a contract renewal that provides MVWSD with access to high quality learning content throughout the 2022-2023 school year, $4,875.00.
- Literably- Will provide license renewal for districtwide assessments for the 2022-2023 school year, $16,460.00.
- Meta Solution- Provide access to customization catalog (PowerSchool) for 2022-2024, $4,800.00.
- Michael Kaltz- Will provide two (2) in-person storytelling assemblies on May 13, 2022 for students in grades K-5th grade at Bubb Elementary, $1,100.00.
- Miracle Play Systems- Will provide two (2) new Basketball systems, including offset post, backboard, hoop and netting at Landels Elementary, $5,951.30.
- Playgrounds Unlimited- Will remove and dispose of existing flush cut basketball post footings, and install a new owner provided Basketball system at Landels Elementary including the re-stripping of one full basketball court, and one half court, $10,807.52.
- Right At School- Will provide Summer Enrichment Camp at Castro/Mistral from June 13, 2022 through July 8, 2022, $8,127.00.
- Santa Clara County Office of Education- Wellness Center at Castro Elementary- Amendment to original Wellness Center Contract on 08/01/2021 to continue the Wellness Center through July 08, 2022, $17,600.00.
- Science is Elementary- Will provide ten (10) in-person science field trips for Castro Elementary Kinder through 4th grade students between May 6th through June 3rd, 2022, $1,900.00.
- Science is Elementary- Will provide three (3) in-person science field trips for Imai Elementary kindergarten students between May 6th through June 3rd, 2022, $600.00.
- Science is Elementary- Will provide two (2) in-person, science field trips for Monta Loma Elementary 5th grade students between May 6th through June 3rd, 2022, $400.00.
- Science is Elementary- Will provide six (6) in-person, science field trips for Theuerkauf Elementary TK & 1st grade students between May 6th through June 3rd, 2022, $1,200.00.
- Science is Elementary- Will provide two (2) in-person science field trips for Vargas Elementary 5th grade students between May 6th through June 3rd, 2022, $400.00.
- Soul Shoppe- Will provide an Online Learning platform that includes digital courses, livestream lessons, videos, etc. and four (4) sessions of training on the digital courses for Gabriela Mistral Elementary for the 2021-2022 school year, $12,050.00.
- Sound & Signal Inc.- Will provide annual testing of the fire alarm systems, district-wide, from May of 2022 through May of 2023, $68,336.00.
- Sound & Signal Inc.- Will provide a yearly monitoring of the fire alarm systems, district-wide, from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025, $46,800.00.
- TechSmart- Will provide training for assigned teachers in Coding in Python and provide Coding Curriculum during the 2022-2023 school year, $19,000.00.
- Testing Engineers, Inc.- Will serve as the Division of State Architect (DSA) Certified Inspector of Record for the Vargas Parking Cover Project. Funded out of Measure T, $14,122.00.
- West Coast Falconry- Will provide an Owl Assembly for students in grades Kinder-1st, and a Raptor Force Assembly for students in grades 2nd-5th at Vargas Elementary on June 1, 2022, Funded by PTA $1,020.00.
