Agenda Item Title:  Award of Contract to Guerra Construction Inc., for the Park Restrooms at Various Sites - Site Work Project

Background: 

The Board will consider awarding a contract for the Park Restrooms at Various Sites - Site work Project. On March 22, 2022, the District received contractor bids for Park Restrooms at Various Sites - Site work Project. Four (4) proposals were received, and the apparent low responsive and responsible bidder is Guerra Construction, Inc. The District's Measure T Bond Program manager, Greystone West, has reviewed the proposal for conformance with District and statutory requirements.



Fiscal Implication:

The construction budget for this project was $331,151. The bid received from Guerra Construction, Inc., exceeds this budget by $266,271. After speaking with bidders for this project the overage is primarily attributed to recent increases in material and fuel cost due to supply chain issues. Concrete, paving and electrical components and labor were the largest portions of this project impacted by material cost increases. The excess funds would be pulled from the overall program contingency to cover the overage.



Recommended Action: 

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees award the contract for the Park Restrooms at Various Sites - Site work Project to Guerra Construction, Inc. in the amount of $597,422.
