Background: 

On November 19, 2015, the District's Governing Board approved Resolution No. 1580.11/15 delegating authority to award contracts to the District's Superintendent, Chief Business Officer, Associate Superintendent(s), and Assistant Superintendent(s) pursuant to Education Code sections 17604 and 17605.

 

All contracts approved by those authorized to do so pursuant to that delegation authority are to be submitted to the District's Governing Board for ratification. Contracts that do not, however, involve an item of expenditure in excess of the bid limits specified in Public Contract Code section 20111 need only be reviewed by the District's Governing Board every 60 days.  The applicable bid limits are $15,000 for construction contracts and $99,100 in 2022 (adjusted annually) for the purchase of equipment, materials, supplies, non-construction services, or repairs including maintenance.

 

Presented for ratification are the following contract(s): 

  1. County of Santa Clara, Behavioral Health Services Department- Amendment to Service Agreement entered on 04/24/2021 with SCCOE and School Linked Services.  Amendments include extending the term for another fiscal year, ending on 06/30/2023, adding $193,522 for that fiscal year and adding COVID-19 provisions as stated in attachments.  This amendment has no cost to the district, School Linked Services will grant the funding to MVWSD.

 

Presented for review are the following contract(s): 

  1. Clearly Consultant, Inc.- Will serve as the Division of State Architect (DSA) Certified Special Inspection Firm responsible for soil testing/engineering for the Imai Elementary School Portable Project.  A DSA Certified Special Inspection Firm is required for all required soil inspections on DSA projects.  Funded out of Measure T, $9,000.00.
  2. Construction Inspection Services, Inc.- Will serve as the Division of State Architect (DSA) Certified Inspector of Record for the Imai Elementary School Portable Project.  A DSA Certified Inspector is required for all DSA projects.  Funded out of Measure T, $20,900.00.
  3. Environmental Volunteers- First Amendment to the Service Agreement entered on 02/10/2022 will provide three (3) additional 90 minute in-person classroom programs for 3rd graders at Imai Elementary on 05/06/2022, $840.00
  4. EVConnect- Will provide a box subscription for the car charging stations for the first year of services at Imai, Landels, Bubb, Castro/Mistral, Stevenson/District Office, Vargas, Theuerkauf from 03/2022 through 03/2023, $17,880.00 with a 3% transaction fee at all sites.
  5. Fulcrum/ThoughtExchange- Will provide an online platform for exchanging ideas and surveying our stakeholders from 04/01/2022 through 03/31/2023, $12,000.00.
  6. GreeneSport Association- Will provide referee services for the after-school sporting events at Crittenden and Graham Middle School from 10/2021 through 06/2022, price per referee starting at $55 but not to exceed $120 per game.
  7. HopSkipDrive, Inc.- Will provide transportation services for our Special Education students for the 2021-2022 school year, $20,000.00.
  8. Imagine Learning- Will provide 45 site license for English Learners who are not newcomers at Monta Loma through 02/28/2023, $5,062.50.
  9. James S. Wilten- Will provide a four (4) part, in-person, Beginning Leadership program to the three (3) 5th grade classes at Imai Elementary from 03/30/2022 through 05/06/2022, $2,000.00.
  10. KM Education Systems, LLC- Will provide options and recommendations for enrollment policy and process changes from 03/2022 through 06/2022, $22,000.00.
  11. Mobile Modular Management Corporation- This contract amendment with Mobile Modular Management Corporation will provide an extension to the lease of 3 portable buildings at Landels Elementary from 06/2022 through 06/2023 at a rate of $650 per month per portable, $23,400.00. 
  12. Santa Cruz/ Silicon Valley New Teacher Project- Will provide an accredited Teacher Induction Program for the 2022-2023 school year, $40,000.00.
  13. Savvas Learning Company LLC- The Amendment will allow the District to extend the term of the original agreement through June 30, 2023 for the purpose of utilizing the six remaining unused days of professional development at no additional cost.
  14. Soul Shoppe Programs- Will provide Imai Elementary School with access to Soul Shoppe's Online Learning Platform, four (4) virtual presentations for K-5th grade student, and one (1) virtual Parent Education Workshop from 03/25/2022 through 06/30/2022, $6,500.00.
  15. The Community School of Music and Art- Will provide an after school music and art program to Vargas Elementary during March 2022 through June 3, 2022, $5,600.00.
  16. The Green Room Theater and Dance- Will provide a Theater Arts program for 40-50 Crittenden Middle School students with two (2) musical performances at the end of the session.  Services to begin 03/28/2022 through 05/28/2022, not to exceed $18,275.00.
  17. Writable- Will provide 160 site license for online writing resources for 3rd-5th grade students at Monta Loma through 07/01/2023, $1,280.00.
  18. Xerox Financial Service LLC- Will provide printer model C505X on lease for our MVWSD Business Department from 03/2022 through 03/2027, $2,166.60.
  19. Xerox Financial Service LLC- Will provide printer model C8145H on lease for our MVWSD Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation Department from 03/2022 through 03/2027, $7,611.00.
