Agenda Item Title:  Notice of Completion - Crittenden Middle School & Vargas Elementary Marquee Project, Escon Builders

Background: 

On May 6, 2021, the Board approved the construction contract for the Crittenden Middle School & Vargas Elementary Marquee Project from Measure T funds. The Board approved the award of the project to Escon Builders in the amount of $196,000.00. On October 7, 2021, the Board approved Change Order #1 in the total amount of $7,885.01. On October 21, 2021, the Board approved Change Order #2 in the total amount of $3,140.79. 


The final contract amount including Change Orders #1 & #2 is $207,025.80. Work on this project is now substantially complete.



Fiscal Implication:

The District currently holds retention in the amount of $10,351.29, or 5% of the final contract value. After a minimum of thirty-five (35) days after the filing of the Notices of Completion with the County of Santa Clara recorder, the District will release the retention amount provided all remaining close out and punch list items have been completed.



Recommended Action: 

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the filing of the Notice of Completion for the Crittenden Middle School & Vargas Elementary Marquee Project.
