Agenda Item Title: Award of Architectural Services Contract to Dreilling Terrones Architecture, Inc. for the Mountain View Whisman School District Window Replacement at Multiple Sites

Background:
The Window Replacement at Various Sites Project involves the replacement of existing single pane windows at Crittenden and Graham Middle Schools and Bubb, Mistral, Imai, Landels, Monta Loma and Theuerkauf Elementary Schools as well as replacing fixed windows at the District Office, Stevenson and Castro Elementary with operable windows. The project requires the services of an architectural design firm to assist in design and construction documents, Division of the State Architect (DSA) approval, construction administration and closeout.
On August 27, 2021, the District issued the RFP to the Pool of Architects. Three proposals were received and evaluated to the following criteria: Schedule, Personnel/Team Experience, Work Commitments, Compensation, Other Relevant Criteria and Interview.
Dreilling Terrones received the highest total score (305 out of 405). District staff is recommending that the Board approve Dreilling Terrones as the architectural design firm for the project.
Fiscal Implication:
Dreilling Terrones Architecture, Inc. proposed a fee for the required services in the amount of $713,097. At this time, the estimated construction cost is $12,965,400. The proposed fee is within the established project budget for design fees.
Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve Dreilling Terrones Architecture, Inc. as the architectural design firm and award an agreement in the amount of $713,097 to Dreilling Terrones Architecture, Inc. for the Window Replacement at Various Sites Project.
