Agenda Item Title: Approval of Resolution No. 02-090921 Gann Appropriations Limit

Background:
In November 1079, the California electorate adopted Proposition 4, commonly referred to as the Gann Limit, named for its author Paul Gann. Education Code Section 42 132 requires that on or before September 15 of each year, the governing board of each school district adopt a resolution to identify the actual appropriations limit preceding fiscal year (2020-2021) and the estimated appropriations for the current fiscal year (2021-2022). The 2020-2021 adjusted Appropriations Limit is $62,036.732.90 and the estimated Appropriations Limit for 2020-2021 is $62,670,855.
Should taxpayer wish to challenge the District’s Gann Appropriations Limit, they have 45 days in which to file a request with the courts to set aside this limit. If a request is not filed within 45 days of the effective date of this resolution, then the Gann Appropriations Limit stands as adopted by the Governing Board.

Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees adopt Resolution No. 02-090921, re-establishing the Mountain view Whisman School District 2020-2021 Gann Appropriations Limit, and establishing the Mountain View Whisman School District 2021-2022 Gann Appropriations Limit as presented.
