Background:
On November 19, 2015, the District's Governing Board approved Resolution No. 1580.11/15 delegating authority to award contracts to the District's Superintendent, Chief Business Officer, Associate Superintendent(s), and Assistant Superintendent(s) pursuant to Education Code sections 17604 and 17605.
All contracts approved by those authorized to do so pursuant to that delegation authority are to be submitted to the District's Governing Board for ratification. Contracts that do not, however, involve an expenditure in excess of the bid limits specified in Public Contract Code section 20111 need only be reviewed by the District's Governing Board every 60 days. The applicable bid limits are $15,000 for construction contracts and $96,700 in 2021 (adjusted annually) for the purchase of equipment, materials, supplies, non-construction services, or repairs including maintenance.

1. Association of Two-Way & Dual Language Education (ATDLE) - Walkthroughs and teacher meetings to align the DLI program at Mistral School. Services from September 2021 to June 2022. $12,900
2. County of Santa Clara - MVWSD Child Nutrition Department will provide meal service using the Food For Thought Truck, to children ages one (1) to eighteen (18) in high need areas of San Jose from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022. County of Santa Clara will pay MVWSD up to $61,373.
3. DTA Consulting Services - Consulting Services to assist in administration of parcel tax exemptions for fiscal year 2021-2022. $1,950
4. McArthur and Levin, LLP - Legal Consultants for the Special Education Department for the 2021-2022 school year. $30,000
5. Mentor Tutor Connection- Support learning for district students through individualized volunteer tutoring and mentoring program. MVWSD will donate $7,500 towards program operating costs.
6. Playworks - Playworks will provide a trainer from 8/11/21 - 8/13/21 to lead class activities that students and teachers can participate together in build community and cooperative play. $3,000
7. Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) - MVWSD will partner with SCCOE to run a school based wellness center at Castro Elementary. Grant funding will be obtained by SCCOE.
8. Teaching Strategies, LLC. - Preschool program online licenses for Ready Rosie Classroom Resources for the 2021-2022 school year. $2,400
9. Testing Engineers, Inc. - Provide construction project special testing and inspection services for the Imai Portable Flex Classroom project. $12,272
