Agenda Item Title: Monta Loma Open Space Reconfiguration (30 minutes)

Background:
Projects under measure T are guided by the Master Facility Plan which included perimeter fencing at all sites. The Master Facility Plan was approved by the Board of Trustees in December 2019. As part of priority 1 projects all school sites have plans to instal perimeter controls. At Monta Loma there were concerns from residents about access to the school field.
To address the concerns from the Monta Loma community community, the District developed a working group of community members, school staff, parents, and the City of Mountain View. This working group met and discussed the various uses of the Monta Loma school field by the community, City, and school.
The Working Group illuminated the need for more solutions. Data collected by the group as well as the school further demonstrates the need for more solutions to accommodate the needs of all groups.
Fiscal Implication:
$382,200 to $702,000 of Measure T funds.
Recommended Action:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve moving the Monta Loma field/open space reconfiguration to a priority 1 item and approve moving forward with the selection of an architect. This item was agendized on the June 3, 2021 meeting for public hearing and discussion.
