Agenda Item Title:  Approval of Recognition and Appreciation Payment

Background: 
The District wishes to address the incredible commitment and effort that the hourly employees of the Beyond the Bell Program put forth this year to provide support to students and the District while facing unimaginable challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic by offering each eligible employee  a one-time payment of two thousand dollars ($2,000), less taxes and other applicable deductions. To be eligible, an employee must be in paid status with the District on the date the Board approves this recognition and appreciation payment. The amount will be prorated based on the employee’s average hours (for example, an employee whose hours are comparable to a full time employee (40 hours a week) would receive a $2,000 payment; an otherwise eligible employee whose hours are equivalent to that of a .50 FTE (20 hours a week) employee would receive a $1,000 payment).

Staff recommends that the Board of Trustees approve the recognition and appreciation payment for Beyond the Bell hourly employees as presented
