Agenda Item Title: Award of Architectural Services Contract to Carducci & Associates for the Outdoor Learning Spaces Project

Background:
The Outdoor Learning Spaces project The Proposed Project involves the addition of outdoor learning spaces at eight (8) elementary and two (2) middle school sites. The project requires the services of an architectural design firm to assist in programming, design, and construction documents, DSA submittal, construction administration and closeout. The District issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for these services on August 13, 2020 to the currently approved pool of Architects for the District for the Measure T Bond. A total of four proposals were received:

Fiscal Implication:
Carducci & Associates has presented a service fee proposal for the required services in the amount of 8 percent of the construction amount. At this time, the estimated construction cost is $5,500,000 which translates to a fee of $440,000. At the conclusion of the project, the fee will be adjusted via contract amendment to reflect 8% of the total construction value. This proposal is within the established project budget for design fees.
Recommended Action:
It is recommended the Board of Trustees approve the maximum service fee proposal and award of an agreement for Carducci & Associates in the amount of $440,000 which will be adjusted according to the construction cost.
