Background: 

Board Policy No. 6020, Parent Involvement provides guidance on the requirement for parents to be involved in their child's education, particularly at schools that receive Title I funding. 

The policy is being revised to reflect requirements for parent involvement in schools receiving federal Title I, Part A funding, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act, including expanding activities to include engagement of family members. The policy also reflects parent involvement as a state priority that must be addressed in the district's LCAP.
