Background:
During the Mountain View Whisman School District Office New Construction Project unforeseen conditions, design changes, and owner requests have occurred, resulting in additions/changes in scope to the original project. These additions/changes require contingency money to be used.
The total construction contingency of $182,920 was budgeted for this project.
Change Order #1 for $235,674 was approved on January 24, 2019.
Change Order #2 for $91,224 was approved on April 4, 2019.
Change Order #3 for $63,261 will reduce the remaining contingency amount to ($207,239) with 68% of the project complete.
Total Change Orders to date equals $390,159.00 which includes the $235,674.00 for unforeseen soils conditions issued as a futile and unavailing change order comprising change order no. 1.
Excluding the unforeseen soils cost, change orders to date equate to 8.48% of the contract value. To date, Premier Builders has completed 68% of the contract work.
Fiscal Implication:
The contingency monies required for Change Order #3 will not exceed $63,261. A summary of Change Order #3 is attached.
Recommended Action:
That the Board of Trustees approve Change Order #3 for the Mountain View Whisman School District Office New Construction Project.
