Agenda Item Title: Mariano Castro/Gabriela Mistral Elementary School Phase 4, Increment 1 Project Change Order No. 1 – BHM Construction, Inc.

Background:
During the Mariano Castro/Gabriela Mistral Elementary School Phase 4, Increment 1 Project, unforeseen conditions, design changes, and owner requests have occurred, resulting in additions/changes in scope to the original project. These additions/changes require contingency money to be used.
The lease-leaseback contract included a District controlled allowance of $495,662.00 to be billed against Construction changes. Total construction changes are $498,250.00, equating to 9.12% of the contract amount.
Change Order #1 for a total net add of $2,588.00 will reduce the remaining contingency amount to $0 with 100% of the project complete.
Fiscal Implication:
The contingency monies required for Change Order #1 will not exceed $2,588.00. A summary of Change Order #1 is attached.
Recommended Action:
That the Board of Trustees approve Change Order #1 for the Mariano Castro/Gabriela Mistral Elementary School Phase 4, Increment 1 Project.
