Agenda Item Title: Resolution No. 02-012419 to File the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Notice of Exemption for the District-Wide Monument Signs Project (5 minutes)

Background:
The District-Wide Monument Signs Project includes the purchase and replacement of existing marquees with digital signage at District’s thirteen school sites. Staff has determined that the improvements are exempt from California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Hearing. The exemption is based on categorical exemption 15301, minor exterior alterations, categorical exemption 15302, replacement and reconstruction of existing facilities and 15311, construction of minor accessory structures including on-premise signs.
Fiscal Implication:
MVWSD is considered the lead agency in the CEQA process. In order to finalize the CEQA process, MVWSD will file a Notice of Exemption with the Santa Clara County Clerk. There is a minimal filing fee. This cost will be paid by the District. Copies of the proposed Notices of Exemption are included for reference.
Recommended Action:
That the Board of Trustees approve Resolution No. 02-012419 and the filing of the attached Notices of Exemption for the District-Wide Monument Signs Project.
