Agenda Item Title:  Resolution 01-111518, Notice of Withdrawal to Schools Excess Liability Fund (SELF)

Background: 
The District is part of the South Bay Area Schools Insurance Authority (SBASIA) to provide insurance for property and liability issues.  The Schools Excess Liability Fund (SELF) provides insurance coverage for events greater than $5M.  At this time, SELF is anticipating to raise the floor for coverage to $10M.  The Executive Board of SBASIA would like to explore other potential insurance carriers to provide the collective school districts overage at the $5M level.  In order to pursue other potential carriers, the SBASIA must separate from the current carrier SELF.  Action tonight will separate the SBASIA from SELF and allow SBASIA to seek prospective carriers.  The separation is not binding.  If SBASIA it not able to find another carrier with better rates and/or service, the SBASIA can stay with SELF.

That the Board of Trustees adopt Resolution No. 01-110218, Notice to Withdrawal from Schools Excess Liability Fund, as presented.
